Is Virtual Speech Therapy with a Specialist a Good Fit for Your Child?
Choosing speech therapy isn’t just about convenience. It’s about finding the right expertise, delivered in a way that actually fits your child’s life.
At CloudSpeech, virtual therapy is simply the how.
Specialization is the why.
Why CloudSpeech focuses on speech sound disorders
Over the years, I’ve worked with children across a wide range of needs, including autism, language disorders, and early intervention. Through experience, I’ve made a very intentional shift.
Today, CloudSpeech focuses on speech sound disorders and motor speech challenges.
This narrow focus allows me to:
✔ Continuously deepen my expertise in a specific area
✔ Develop targeted materials and strategies
✔ Deliver highly individualized therapy rather than generalized care
✔ Spend my time refining what works best for children who are ready for this level of support
Instead of being stretched across many diagnoses, I specialize where I see the strongest outcomes.
Who this approach works best for
CloudSpeech is especially well suited for children who:
✔ Are age 5 or older
✔ Have ongoing difficulty with speech sounds (such as R, L, S, SH, CH, blends)
✔ Are hard to understand compared to peers
✔ Have made limited progress in previous therapy
✔ Are frustrated and aware of their speech differences
✔ Benefit from focused, one-on-one attention
By kindergarten and early elementary school, most children’s speech motor patterns are stabilizing. When speech remains unclear at this stage, it often means a more individualized, motor-based approach is needed.
Support for children with apraxia or motor speech challenges
CloudSpeech also supports children who:
✔ Have a diagnosis of childhood apraxia of speech
✔ Are suspected of having motor planning difficulties
✔ Need frequent, consistent therapy, which is recommended for apraxia
✔ Cannot access an experienced provider locally
Virtual care allows families to work with a specialist without being limited by zip code, relocation, or long travel demands.
Parents are always welcome to observe sessions or participate as needed, and I provide guidance and practice materials to support carryover at home.
Why the virtual format supports progress
Virtual therapy works best when it’s designed intentionally.
Many children make stronger progress when they:
✔ Work from a familiar, comfortable space
✔ Sit in a beanbag, on the floor, or at their own desk
✔ Take brief sensory or movement breaks
✔ Practice speech using meaningful items from their home
✔ Feel less pressure than in a clinic or group setting
We are working through the screen, not on a screen.
Technology today allows for clear audio, visual feedback, and precise cueing — without sacrificing connection or clinical quality.
What about cost and insurance?
CloudSpeech works with in-network insurance in California and offers out-of-network support and superbills for families in California, Texas, and New York.
Pricing is consistent and tiered based on session frequency, not diagnosis.
For most speech sound disorders, research supports about 60 minutes per week, typically divided into two shorter sessions. Children with apraxia may benefit from more frequent sessions for periods of time.
Specific pricing and insurance details are always discussed during your consultation so expectations are clear and you can choose a plan that feels manageable and sustainable.
