CloudSpeech Returns Home: Now Exclusively Serving Texas Families

At CloudSpeech Online Therapy, we're excited to announce a strategic shift: we're now exclusively serving families across Texas.

Previously, we provided virtual speech therapy to clients in California and New York as well, but to better align with our roots and maximize impact, we're focusing solely on our home state. As a Texas-based practice in the Austin area, this allows us to deepen our commitment to local families navigating speech clarity challenges for kids 5 and up—especially those with persistent speech sound disorders like lisps, R distortions, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS).

This decision comes at a critical time for Texas families.

The state is grappling with a significant shortage of speech-language pathologists (SLPs), with about half of all school districts reporting insufficient staffing. Nationwide, SLP employment is projected to grow 15% from 2024 to 2034, but Texas anticipates even stronger demand—up to 37% job growth by 2030, creating around 1,650 annual openings due to new needs, retirements, and turnover. Over 200,000 public school students in Texas require speech services annually, yet many districts struggle to meet federal mandates, leaving kids underserved.

The shortages are especially acute for specialized care in speech sound disorders. For conditions like CAS—a motor speech disorder affecting sound sequencing—access to experts is limited. Research highlights that schools often prioritize broad caseloads, overwhelming therapists and diluting focus on complex cases like persistent lisps (distorted /s/ and /z/ sounds), R errors, or CAS in children 5+. These disorders require intensive, one-on-one intervention, yet statewide gaps mean many kids receive group sessions or infrequent therapy, delaying progress.

That's where CloudSpeech steps in.

Our fully virtual model delivers specialized, one-on-one teletherapy from the comfort of home—perfect for busy Texas families. No long drives across vast distances; instead, consistent 30-minute sessions that fit around basketball, dance, or piano.

Research supports high-frequency therapy for optimal outcomes:
For speech sound disorders, shorter, more frequent sessions (e.g., 2–5 times/week, 30 minutes each) yield faster gains, with at least 50–100 practice trials per session recommended. For CAS specifically, 3–5 sessions/week is ideal to build motor planning and clear communication.

We offer flexible dosing—typically 1–3 sessions per week, with short intensive blocks of 4–5 times per week available when families need accelerated progress. This matches research-backed intensity while keeping therapy sustainable and joyful for kids and parents alike.

As an SLP with deep expertise in CAS and persistent speech sound disorders, I'm thrilled to serve Texas exclusively.
